[Day 9] Rain + Outdoor Activity = BAD

Our first morning together. I awake to the enchanting pitter-patter of rain. Vibrations sweep across the roof; it's quite loud but everyone's still asleep. A warm electricity permeates our new home, the sort that fills toy store silences or birthday mornings right when your eyes open and you're still cozy in bed, that sort of warm and wondrous electricity.

Unfortunately that tender pitter-patter was a storm. BULLOCKS! The girls ask for surf lessons but hard rain obviously isn't the funnest condition to learn. In addition, our next stop was underground white-water rafting in the nearby Waitomo Caves, which was shut down on account of high water levels. So, after a brief team meeting, we decide to skip the region all together & blast across the country to Rotorua.
